Koala Manne (they/them) is a working artist in Buffalo who received their Bachelor of Fine Arts from SUNY Fredonia in 2021. As an artist who practices with a myriad of mediums, such as oil paint and book binding, ink has remained their preferred method of creating. With an apparent influence from Japanese mangaka artists such as Takeshi Obata (of Death Note) and A Yazawa (of Nana), their drawings are endearing, stylized, and have a hint of darkness to them. They mainly depict figures that stem from dealing with complexities of gender identity, sex, and existentialism, as a way of processing and releasing difficult emotions.
